Just two years ago, Minnesota had a historic surplus of nearly $19 billion. Yet instead of using that windfall to deliver lasting relief to the taxpayers who helped create it, DFL legislators pushed through a massive spending spree and introduced a host of new taxes.
“The rapid expansion of government spending over the last two years has led us to this crisis point,” said Schultz. “Minnesota Democrats spent like Kim Kardashian and now our state is staring down a $6 billion deficit. This is a financial disaster that all sensible people predicted and that threatens our state’s economic future.”
Math is undefeated, and it is math that will now force budget cuts.
“Do we need a new election in Shakopee? Is the Pope Catholic? The obvious answer is ‘Yes,’” said Schultz. “When there are 21 missing ballots and one candidate is ahead by a fraction of that, the only answer is that there must be a new election.”
“The discovery of 20 missing ballots in such a tightly contested race is deeply troubling and undermines the trust we place in our electoral system,” said Schultz. “Scott County Commissioners have a responsibility to ensure every legitimate vote is accounted for. There must be a transparent and thorough investigation, and the immediate calling of a new election to uphold the integrity of our democratic institutions.”

In the second quarter of this year, Minnesota’s growth plummeted to 48th in the nation. In 2023, it was 43rd, and in 2022 it was 36th. With respect to job growth, from January 2020 to December 2023, Minnesota ranked poorly at 37th in the country.
Let’s be clear: Court-packing isn’t just another wonky legislative proposal. It’s an existential threat to the independence of the judiciary.

Whether on the economy, crime, education, or other issues, the state’s far-left leaders have spent their time telling Minnesotans, and perhaps convincing themselves, that Minnesota has become a utopia driven by successful liberal policies. The facts are radically and sadly different, though. And Minnesotans deserve the truth.

There is a lot of disagreement right now on the state of our state. A few weeks ago, in his State of the State address, Gov. Tim Walz depicted Minnesota as a progressive utopia that should be an example for all of America. On the other hand, some on the right describe the state as something approaching a barren hellscape (a description some of us have reserved for Wisconsin (in jest of course)).
The Minnesota Private Business Council (MPBC) today announced the formation of its Advisory Board comprised of key Minnesota political and business leaders and dedicated to helping MPBC advance its goals.
Other states have similar high environmental standards but have efficient permitting systems, and we can do the same.
