Tim Walz Has Hit the Wall
Riots, fraud and economic stagnation—Minnesota has had it rough. Brighter skies could be ahead.
MINNETONKA, Minn. – Jim Schultz, President of the Minnesota Private Business Council (MPBC), is sounding the alarm over Minnesota’s latest budget forecast, which reveals a staggering $6 billion deficit just a few short years after Democrats burned through a record $19 billion surplus. This looming shortfall is the direct consequence of reckless government expansion, unchecked spending, and the tax-and-spend policies of Tim Walz and the Democrat-controlled legislature.
“The rapid expansion of government spending over the last two years has led us to this crisis point,” said Schultz. “Minnesota Democrats spent like Kim Kardashian and now our state is staring down a $6 billion deficit. This is a financial disaster that all sensible people predicted and that threatens our state’s economic future.”
Schultz pointed to Walz and the DFL’s tax hikes, massive new welfare programs, and giveaways to special interests as key contributors to the state’s deteriorating financial outlook.
“Democrats spent every dime of the surplus, raised taxes by $9 billion, and expanded government handouts—including free college for illegal aliens—all while leaving Minnesota taxpayers on the hook,” Schultz continued. “Now, just a year later, we’re back in the red, proving once again that their tax-and-spend agenda is reckless and unsustainable and disastrous for working families. The fiscal mismanagement must end.”

The voices of Minnesota’s employers and taxpayers are being overwhelmed by coastal billionaires and powerful unions.

The now-reflexive hostility of hard-left elements of the environmental lobby to any data-center development is having serious repercussions for our state.

On our country’s 250th birthday, let’s focus on confidence instead of self-contempt.

She is portraying herself as a moderate, but so did Walz before he was elected and then governed from the hard left.

Minnesota’s founders included the single-subject rule for a reason: to prevent exactly this kind of legislative logrolling, where unrelated policies are crammed into one massive bill.
